In this picture, a kid is holding copies of the Evening News. You can clearly see the front page of the newspaper reads “Titanic disaster: great loss of life. The words clearly express the havoc that this incident brought. No need to say it is still remembered.   

Collecting Funds

George M. Cohan who was an American entertainer can be seen in this picture with a bundle of unique copies of a journal. This picture was taken on a Sunday in New York. He was selling those copies only to collect funds in order to provide financial assistance to the rescued passengers and their kin.    

A Baseball Match

Help poured in from all over the world. A baseball match was organized between Yankees and Giants. This was done to financially assist the affected family. Interestingly over 14,000 people attended the event.    

Ship Carpathia


When the Titanic sank ship Carpathia came to the rescue of drowning passengers. Many people survived the harrowing incident, thanks to Arthur Henri Rostron the then captain of the ship. So, the survivors made a great plan to show their gratitude to the captain. In May 1912, they awarded him with a silver cup.      

Last Rites


Funeral services of those who died in the adversity were performed in New York in Seamen’s Church Institute. Many people attended the funeral with moist eyes and expressed their grief over the loss of so many innocent lives.     

Statue Of Love


Some died and some remained in people’s memory even after their death. There was a couple onboard who did not leave each other even when calamity struck them in its most brutal way. Isidor and Ida Straus preferred giving up their lives over each other. So, this memorial was built to celebrate their love and dedication towards each other.
