Reasons

He was touched by her sincerity and simplicity but he found it amusing how she had become so attached to the old man. He then told her that he was just a customer and he would see his convenience first.  No matter how much the staff put their efforts and hard work in serving the customer if they find any other good restaurant they wouldn’t hesitate to go. But the waitress wasn’t convinced by the statement of her manager.
